
Farooq Tariq Sent to Bahawalpur Jail
Farooq Tariq has been sent to Bahawalpur Jail. He was arrested on 5 June . Farooq Tariq's detention is a part of recent waive of repression in which hundreds of political activists have been arrested and cases have been lodged on thousands. The process of arrests/ crack down is still on.
After Farooq's arrest he was kept in Harbanspura Police Station. Just after his illegal arrest Lahore Bar Council put a case against detention. Farooq Tariq was then sent to an unknown place to avoid his recovery . Now he is sent to Bahawalpur jail. Today, the police produced a detention order by the Interior Department Punjab before the Court.
The order is for one month detention.
Labour Party Pakistan is now going to put a case in the High Court against this detention order and organizing protests.
