Web Discussions: the left after Brown's coronation

In the UK there was a bit of momentum from within a section of the Labour Party left to try and win the leadership with John McDonnell as candidate. This, unfortunately, didn't get very far at all. In the wake of the collapse of the push Alan Thornett addresses recent posts on the SUN blog by Andy Newman where the situation confronting the British far left was plumbed as it related not only to the Labor Party but also Respect. Thornett writes:"I don't agree with Andy Newman that everything is hopeless (or almost hopeless) in the wake of the collapse of the McDonnell campaign."
