Web discussions-- Radical Revisionism: The Most Realistic Option?

.
The excellent environment blog with penchant for activism Climate Change Action poses the fascinating question in its latest post -- The radical left have been ahead of the rest on climate change. Why is this?.

To CCA's credit it doesn't dodge the issues and bluntly states the core conundrum:
We live in a capitalist society, this system as currently functioning is failing to maintain security or prevent a horrific degree of poverty. The system is running up against the biophysical limits of the planet. A change is needed, that much is obvious. Given this, it is a lot easier to convince people that a wide range of other ideologies hold the key...So can we be radical and revisionist, can we change the type of capitalism, can we change the economic model in quite fundamental ways and stand a chance of saving the planet and building some equity into this new world?
This is indeed the question is it not that is being asked here?

But rather than tackle it Climate Change action refers to the latest swag of environment books that expound upon a caring, sharing and sustainable capitalism. I guess that means we wait until CCA does some reading before an answer is proffered. Maybe you can pop over and give the blog a hand with its research?
