GLOBAL DAY OF ACTION FOR BURMA SATURDAY 6 OCTOBER

PERTH: Friday 5 October, 12 noon- 2.00 PM

12:00 PM-We meet at Harold Boas Garden, Wellington Street and then proceed along Havelock Street to the steps of WA State Parliament House. We will be met and hear speeches by Parliamentary Friends of Burma (convenor John Hyde MLA member for Perth, Margaret Quirk, MLA member for Girrawheen, Ray Halligan MLC member for North Metropolitan, Tony McRae MLA member for Riverton) and Graham Edwards Labour Federal Member for Cowan, Scott Ludlum, Lead Greens Federal Senate Candidate.

2.00 PM End of Rally

PERTH: Saturday 6 October, 12 noon- 2.00 PM

12.00 PM We will all meet at Supreme Court Gardens, Corner of Barrack and Adelaide Terrace.

Speeches will be given concerned leaders and individuals of various Burmese communities in Perth, including Karen, Karrenni, Chin, Shan, Mon, Anglo-Burmese and the 8888 Student Generation, Burma-- ABSDF, ABSL, DPNS, FBO and by trade unions, international and local groups involved in human rights.

Prayers and chantings by concerned religious groups and individuals- Buddhist, Islam, Uniting Church, Catholic, Baptist, and Anglican.

(A full list of names of speakers will be released before the rally).

Slogans by 8888 comrades and other activists will be held.
