Ratbag Radio has a new home-- Ratbagmedia on Wikispaces. The shift to the wiki format as a supplement to our various blogging homes is because wikis are great ways to aggregate content and pull it together so that it is packaged on the one platform.
Wikis --as you'd know from Wikipedia -- are utility places and not flashy online homepages. But I can at the one location now archive RR audio and other files and not be held hostage to the administrative whim of other sites I've employed in the past. And since Web 2.0 platforms generally offer free accounts -- as Wikispaces does -- its' a new feeling to pay for extras in way of increased file storage.
So this year coming -- 2008 -- is the Year of the Wiki -- at Ratbag Radio (and some other political projects too).
AltMediaNetwork
As part of this rejigged engagement, RR is sponsoring a wikified audio toolbox and discussion forum which is packaged as the AltMediaNetwork-- also on Wikispaces.
AltMediaNetwork is a partnership among activists which will be archiving a lot of useful material about community broadcasting,podcasting and audio production.
