Socialist Alliance on the web

The Socialist Alliance has been exploring a few web platforms to see what use we can make of them for ongoing political work. Part of the process of course is encouraging our members and our supporters to feel comfortable with these tools and recognise their utility.

We have been exploring the main Web 2.0 platforms -- blogging, online video, wikis, online slideshows -- to see what is on offer.

See this visual review of what we've been playing with here.

While we cannot afford to be schematic and we need to recognise how dynamic the web currently is we'll be utilising web forums as an online organising hub where we can communicate and archive material without having to be so dependent of email to connect the SA dots nationally.

So the election campaign forums which were a useful exploration of this approach -- are now SA CAMPAIGN FORUMS

As an adjunct, we'll also be redrafting our "branch building manual" in such a way that it encompases a lot of other campaigning possibilities -- akin to an activist "cookbook" or "toolbox". We'll do that via a wiki.

That process is only now getting under way and anyone is welcome to contribute their ideas and suggestions for such topics as are relevant to organising, networking and reach out. My very rough & initial outline can be reviewed here:

Any ideas, suggestions and contributions, can either be posted to the SA Campaign Forums or to me: ratbagradio@gmail.com
