NoToPope: pilgrim's progress to annoy.
According to reports in today's Sydney Morning Herald, the new laws imposing fines of $5500 for annoying a pilgrim during the Pope's visit to Sydney later this month, have been taken to task by thousands through online polls, blogs, letters and talkback radio. More than 500 media outlets worldwide have run stories about the controversial regulations.
Most people were opposed to any intrusion on civil liberties.
The Sydney Resistance Centre, was besieged by television news teams yesterday keen to interview some of the main organisers of the NoToPope protests.
