The fight's not over yet as the NSW Labor govt has postponed the vote on privatisation to September.

Apparently Treasurer Costa stormed out to an applauding public gallery!

It turns out that we don't have a victory yet.

On the ABC TV 7pm news, Iemma and Costa revealed their secret "Plan B": Since they cannot get a majority vote for the energy sell-off in Parliament, they are now going to bypass Parliament and privatise the retail arms of the energy industry.

Not content with defying the overwhelming anti-privatisation vote of their own party, Iemma and Costa (and the sell-out NSW Labor cabinet - let's name and shame them all) are now defying Parliament.

If this is not high time for Unions NSW to "take the gloves off" then when is it? We need a combination of industrial action and mass union and community action to kill off the Iemma-Costa privatisation push. For a start, the Power to the People Campaign should get the ball rolling for a massive turn out on the September 20 mass rally that it is publicly committed to.
