I've been a keen user of Scribefire for years -- even when it passed itself off in another named life. Previously known as Performancing for Firefox , Scibefire is a Firefox extension that allows users to post to blogs from within Firefox itself.
I don't post to blogs that way, but I lay out my blog post or my email discussion group posting, or my blog comment and copy and paste the finished product into a platform's edit window.
The latest release -- February 27th -- has added a range of features that make the extension more useful. If you use a lot of blockquoting , Scribefire is much easier to use than the Blogger edit window. You also have more options as to font and font sizes
Even if you only want to create a link or add an image to some aspect of your online editing -- ScribeFire is a simple one click opening.
So rather than offering online -- say as part of a comment to a blog post -- something like this :
http://socialistalliance-brisbane.blogspot.com/2009/03/sam-watson-socialist-for-south-brisbane.html
You can convert that into a link such as this without having to compose the code in free hand. (You'll note that I reduced the font size of the link url as I know that such long links can stretch across the page columns and create layout problems when you load the blog, especially in Internet Explorer. That' s Blogging 101. )
