SATIRE & VIDEO: Mouseland -- class according to cats

The introduction is a bit much from the head honcho from the torture supporting TV drama, 24 -- but the animation and story told is delightful..and so very true.

Tommy Douglas' NDP government (of one province only) is best remembered for being the first to implement universal health care. Later, as a federal MP, he frequently spoke ant anti-Vietnam-war rallies. He was no socialist, but he was an honest social democrat and a sincere Christian, and on the whole governed according to his principles. (Of course, he also supported the expulsion of left wingers from the CCF and NDP. I was one of those.)

A couple of years back a CBC radio show had listeners vote for the "greatest Canadian" -- Douglas won by a landslide. He is remembered with reverence as an honest politician who actually cared about people.
